GIANTS What else can you say about last Sunday!! I lost both my
fantasy playoff games, but didn't care one bit ~~ that game was AWESOME!
Total humilation of the Cowgirls from start to finish ~~ AND we get a whole
year to RUB IT IN!!!! The defense was outstanding, and if we put that
kind of pressure on Eli Manning, we can win this game against the Giants this
weekend, pay them back for that fluke of a game earlier this year, and get ready
for the playoffs . . . while the Cowboys start reserving Tee Times! ===================================================================== Did

Our Janitorial Duty To Society . . . Sweeping!!!
So
what did we learn last Sunday? We are back!!!!!! Now, does that mean that
we will make the playoffs? No. But it does mean that Redskins Football is
back and moving in the right direction, which is something that we have not
seen in over a decade. We got the chance to witness exactly what Joe GIbbs
was brought back to do . . . win big games in December! We have all criticized
Gibbs for a lot this season, some deserved, some not deserved ~~ but he showed
me that he is willing to not only adjust to do what is needed to win, but to
listen to his players when they approached him about being "less conservative"
a few weeks back. For this, we need to praise the man. Make no bones about
it, we need to run the ball to win (9-1 when Portis gets 25+ carries per game),
but we saw this team click on all cylinders, in all facets of the game. We
saw this team place both feet on the throat of the Cowboys, another playoff
contender, and not let up! We saw what this team is capable of being when they
execute the game plan that Joe Gibbs puts in place. Norv Turner was not capable
of winning a game in this fashion, Marty Shoettenheimer did not really get a
chance but still, he didn't, and Steve Spurrier? Not a clue! The team has
taken a huge step, and to go from 6-10 in 2003, 6-10 in 2004, to 8-6 (so far)
and a realistic shot at the postseason in December of 2005 is a beautiful thing!
So what now? We have to do it again and again. We have to approach the Giants
and Eagles games with the same intensity and execution that we saw on Sunday.
If we do ~~ AND WE CAN ~~ we are in the playoffs, plain and simple! But if
we do not ~~ we still have great things to look forward to in the coming years
because we are on the right track.
I didn't think it could get any better than the feeling I had after the Monday
Night win in September, but I was wrong. How good did this win feel? How good
did it feel that Cowboy fans could not accuse us of "stealing one" or "getting
lucky"? How good did it feel that they could not say a THING??? How good
does it feel to be wearing Burgundy & Gold, IN DALLAS THIS WEEK!?!?!?!?!?!?
All I can say is that it feels pretty good watching Redskins Football in December
again!!! I am convinced that The Grinch lives in Dallas now and he wouldn't
have Christmas for the Cowboys any other way!!!
And the crowd at Austin Avenue was AWESOME! We need the same fire and
energy this Saturday as we watch our Skins hand the G-Men their butts and keep
our post-season hopes alive!!!
See you all on Christmas Eve!!!!!

YEEEEEAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
The Giant's Tiki Barber is having an MVP-worthy year, so step one is stopping
him ~~ and we CAN and WILL do that this weekend. Their passing game consists
of Plaxico Burress and Jeremy Shockey . . . and that's about it . . . so we
should be able to shut at least one of those guys down. Hit "Plastico"
hard enough with some Sean Taylor action, and maybe we can send him to the sidelines
and make them one dimensional!
We win this game and we are virtually assured of a playoff berth . . . so let's
just do it! HAIL!!!!!

What
a rousting . . . it seemed Dallas was jumping off sides every other down and/or Bledsoe
was being sacked on every possession . . .HA!!! The Skins looked
like a team -- they played solid and took advantage of every mistake the Cowpies
made. Dallas was thoroughly spanked, punished and sent home in shame
~~ it'll be a long time before we see another "We own the Redskins"
banner hanging in Texas Stadium! Poetic Justice....... !!!!

DALLAS -- Mavericks guard Darrell
Armstrong was so happy his beloved Washington Redskins beat the Dallas Cowboys
that he grabbed a microphone before Sunday night's game against the Minnesota
Timberwolves and hollered, "How 'bout those Redskins!"
It's
going to cost him $1,000. Dallas coach Avery
Johnson announced the fine during his postgame news conference and team
owner Mark Cuban later verified it was legit, much to the chagrin of a disbelieving
Armstrong. The money will all go to charity, with Johnson saying the Cowboys
would decide the recipient. The Redskins wrapped up a 35-7 victory over
the Cowboys shortly before the Mavericks left the locker room to play the Timberwolves.
As part of the pregame ceremonies, guard Devin
Harris wished the crowd a happy holiday. Then Armstrong, who wasn't
scheduled to speak, asked for the microphone. He added his holiday wishes,
then made his fine-inducing proclamation, a twist on a famous line by former
Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson. A mixture of laughter and boos followed,
even from German import Dirk
Nowitzki. Cuban laughed, too, and joked with Armstrong about it when
he returned to the bench.

Great article from today's Washington Post . . .
By Jason La Canfora, Washington Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, December 21, 2005; Page E01
Here is the key line . . .
"When the Redskins rush 34 or more times, they are 11-0 the last two seasons,
and they are 3-16 otherwise.
In the chill of December, the ability and willingness to plow ahead with the run
is even more indispensable."
I'll be singing the Chuck Berry hit: "Run Run Clinton" (a.k.a. Rudolph)
on Saturday!
