ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE !!!!

After a season of less-than-stellar performances by our esteemed Veteran Quarterback (with one enjoyable exception in Houston), the Washington Redskins are 3-6 and all but mathematically out of the playoffs after the second weekend of November.  We all know that this is not how it was supposed to go this year.  We can go down the laundry list of additions that have not panned out, but we have all heard it before.  We have a group of players that have the skills necessary to succeed in this league . . . what we are missing is the glue to bring them all together as a "Team!"   Mark Brunell has not demonstrated that he has either the necessary on-the-field skills (anymore) or the off-the-field leadership necessary to pull them together and focus them on the single goal of winning football games.  So . . . starting this Sunday afternoon in Tampa Bay, former Auburn standout Quarterback Jason Campbell will get his first start of his career in Burgundy & Gold!~  Campbell, 1st round pick in 2005, is better suited to Al Saunder’s offense, which needs the ball to get where it is going in a hurry.  He has a very strong arm and had very high completion percentages at the highest level of college ball, so I am very optimistic that he will give the Redskins a solid chance to win games while he is learning the ins and outs of the NFL.

I don’t even feel like talking about the mess in Philly . . . so I won’t.   Tampa Bay will be playing off of a short week after the Monday night extravaganza against the Carolina Panthers, so hopefully we can catch them down.  They are breaking in a new signal caller also with the early season injury to Chris Simms - - rookie Bruce Gradkowski has been holding the reins as of late with two October wins to their credit over the Bengals and the Eagles - - so they CAN play, but they have dropped two in a row as of this writing.  Cadillac Williams has been a major disappointment in his sophomore season, but he is still dangerous, and strange things happen when the Burgundy & Gold travel to the new Sombrero, so it will certainly be interesting theater.  Clinton Portis is out indefinitely for the Redskins, but Ladell Betts and TJ Duckett should be able to fill in for the 10 – 14 carries that Portis was handling each week . . . .imagine that . . . TJ Duckett actually playing substantial time in a Redskins uniform!

This is what most of us have been clamoring for since the preseason, and I think it is the best thing possible for our team at this time. so I for one am excited at what this weekend and the future holds for us at Quarterback!

Greetings to all from the wasteland.  Just wanted to wish everyone a great veterans day.  Things are going ok here I suppose. T he temps are dropping down into the upper 50's and lower 60's and we are getting alot of rain and mud.  I hope everyone is having a great time there at Austin's.  Please know that I think about you all on Sundays.  I don't get to see the games on TV due to my schedule, but I would like to say thank you to Mark Stout for the first 3 weeks of the season.  Though we were only 1-2 in those copies, it was still great to watch.  It was a great day here when I heard the news that the cryboys got their well deserved spanking!!  Well, I hope this is what was needed to get our guys into gear.  I wish everyone a great last half of the season and I hope to see everyone upon my return next year.
