A Sunday Afternoon Best Forgotten . . .
Well, this week has been weird - - when the Cowboys fans don’t even give you a hard time after a loss, you know it was bad! I was on my back from an all-too-brief vacation in Orlando during the bloodbath, so my afternoon went something like this:
We were in the air at Kickoff, so the minute we landed in Houston, I checked the score -- "Ouch" -- 17-0 in the 2nd Quarter.
Got off the plane, and the first television I saw was tuned to the game -- “Oops" -- 24-0.
I got to see Halftime, and then I was like, ”No worries . . . Coach Gibbs will make his adjustments at halftime.” Uhh, No . . .
Lined up to get on the plane from Houston to Dallas -- 31-0.
Got on the plane, sat down, and checked again -- 38-0.
Then, mercifully, I was ordered to turn the cellphone off.
Landed In Dallas 40 minutes later and got the best news of the day: 00:00 on the clock.
I for one am tired of the "Pity of the World." Randall Godfrey needs to be cut for being a wuss, and we need to take out our frustrations on the
J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets! Kellen Clemens takes over for Noodle-Armed Chad Pennington, and with the health status of our secondary (Carlos on IR, and Smoot still nursing that troublesome hamstring), we could be in for more of a game than we think. The Jets have some good Receivers in Cotchery and Coles, and a strong Back in Thomas Jones. Pennington’s inability to throw more than 20 yards has been holding them back, and while new starter Clemens is very green, he does have the physical tools necessary to do the job. Jason needs to shake that mess of last Sunday off and get back to executing the game plan!
The Jets should be just what the doctor ordered for a team looking to get the bad taste of defeat out of their mouths!
