Illuminate and Recognize the Traps

 

What a game last Sunday!!  Our Skins started off with a major Dallas “hangover” and were down 14 points before we could even get a couple of bites of Nachos down!  But when Akers missed that field goal . . . didn’t you just FEEL IT?  

 

The Redskins put on their hard hats and went to work - - absolutely SHUTTING DOWN the vaunted Eagles offense, while blasting huge holes in their line with Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts.  Jason Campbell continued his stellar play, commanding this team like few Quarterbacks we have seen in recent years.

 

Out-Freaking-Standing . . .                         Yes, I enjoyed that game . . . I enjoyed it very much, thank you!

 

Our divisional road schedule (the hardest one in the League) is now OVER - - so the “Road to the NFC East Crown” will have to travel through FedEx Field.  Now starts a very tricky part of our schedule, against teams with inferior records to ours . . . teams that in past recent history we have played down to the level of, and gotten caught in, the traps posed by games like these.  Good teams DO NOT let this happen . . . they keep playing the same way EVERY week for 60 minutes, regardless of who lines up across from them.  This team needs to realize they have not accomplished ANYTHING yet, but they have an opportunity to go a long way towards doing just that!

 

The St. Louis Rams and their new Coach, Jim Haslett, come to town this weekend, off of a bye week, where they had a chance to watch the Skins dismantle the Eagles, and had time to get ready for us.  This team has weapons behind that sieve they call an offensive line . . . Steven Jackson, Marc Bulger, and Torry Holt can be formidable if they are given time to work, so we have to collapse that pocket right on top of Bulger ~ ~ early and often!  

 

Hopefully, Coach Zorn will “shine some light” on the danger posed by this game, and impress upon the guys that every week is crucial!
