HAIL REDSKINS FANS!

Washington  REDSKINS   v. New Orleans SAINTS

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2009 ~ 12:00 P.M.

AUSTIN AVENUE GRILL & SPORTS BAR
-------------------------------------------------------------------

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE NUMBERS!

27 – 24 . . . another divisional loss.   4 – Divisional Losses this year, this one just as frustrating as the last . . . 4th and 2 at the end, with 5 open yards in front of Jason Campbell.   2 – The number of seconds he hesitated in making a decision.   0 – The number of times that approach will be successful in the NFL.

The Skins are playing hard, but there are just too many holes to overcome the 1 or 2 mistakes we make each week.  The injuries are certainly a part of it, with both Cooley and Jarmon joining the ever-increasing number of Burgundy & Gold on the IR list this year.  That Number is "9" in case you were wondering.

And now onto this week . . . with another number . . . 4 . . . which is the number of games that Clinton Portis will have missed after he fails to play this week.  He has already been ruled out, still suffering from concussion symptoms.  Rock is doing just fine, so I say keep Clinton on the bench.  Big Al should be back this week, which will help some.  But the Saints are coming to town this week with our old friend (but not Snyderatto’s) Gregg Williams at the helm of a defense that is providing a perfect complement to their juggernaut offense.   We all know how many games they have won, but the more impressive number is 407 . . . the number of points they have score so far this year.  407!  They are averaging 37 points a game!  On the other side of that coin is our 170 points, with the sparkling average of 15.5 points per game . . . and that is AFTER our recent scoring renaissance.

So in conclusion . . . while stranger things HAVE happened, my advice for this game is as follows:

1.       Get a Designated Driver

2.  G et to Austin Avenue

3.       Enjoy the company of a room full of Redskins fans

4.       Get heavily inebriated

5.       Watch the game

6.       Enjoy the halftime Raffle

7.       Get more inebriated in the second half

8.       Stay until the end

9.       Have your designated driver make sure you get home safely

10.   Continue the Vinny Cerrato / Jimmy Zorn "Firing Watch"

 Hail!                                                                                                       ...............................................................John Priddy
